Label Printer
A Label printer is a computer hardware device that prints on a card stock and on a sticky label material. These printers are different from ordinary printers because special equipments or mechanical appliances are required which handles tear sheet stock or rolled stock. Earlier, people were using various types of printers such as Dot matrix printers and Inkjet printers. But now, new printers like Label printer and Laser printers are developed with the new technology to help the people in many ways. When the label printer is printing continuously on the label stock, then the print location is changed slightly from label to label. Sensor is used by label printers that discover a line, notch, gap or perforation between labels at the time of registration of the print area.
Label printers are used in various fields such as retail price marking, blood and laboratory specimen marking, supply chain management, fixed assets management and shipping labels. These printers use a large number of label materials like synthetic and paper polymer materials. It is made up of robust metal outer casing and due to its inner mechanical appliances, it is found to be tough, durable and reliable in the unfavorable environments. Types of Label Printers

These printers are inexpensive and are designed for the light and medium duty use which uses a roll of stock up to 4". - Label Printer Applicators
These printers are designed for warehousing and manufacturing purposes which are used to automate the labeling process. - Commercial Label Printers
These printers are used for medium volume printing and hold a large roll of stock up to 8".
